The Detroit Lions have placed EDGE Payton Turner on injured reserve, effectively ending his 2026 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team.

Turner who signed with the Lions this offseason, was sidelined by a back injury after participating in just the first practice of training camp.

Detroit is filling a roster spot by signing DB Eric Scott Jr., a former sixth-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys who has also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Scott gives the Lions another body in a secondary that has dealt with its share of injuries throughout camp.
