The Detroit Lions have released WR Tom Kennedy as part of their moves to get down to the initial 53-man roster.

Kennedy has been one of Detroit's longest-tenured preseason standouts, spending much of his career bouncing between the active roster and practice squad.

He once again came up short of securing a spot on the initial 53.

Could Kennedy return to Detroit's practice squad?

That could be the next step as the Lions finalize their roster ahead of the regular season.
