Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch is expected to return to practice as early as Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

Head coach Dan Campbell said Monday that Branch still needs final medical clearance, but that "it looks really good" that he'll practice this week.

If Branch returns Wednesday, the Lions will officially open his 21-day practice window to evaluate him before activating him to the 53-man roster.

After watching Detroit's secondary struggle through the first four games, getting Branch back would be a huge boost.
